My name is Zoe, and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m a writer and an avid home cook. When I’m not standing over the stove–which is often–you’ll find me singing along to the radio, doing crossword puzzles, or playing fetch with my cat.
For me, food and health are inextricably linked. I believe that eating well and feeling good isn’t just about numbers on a scale or a lab sheet. It’s about the snap of an asparagus stem, the rising scent of cumin seeds in a skillet, the silky richness of a perfectly cooked egg yolk. It’s about nourishing your body while sharing great meals with the ones you love. It’s about a pinch of this, a dash of that, and a generous helping of creativity and fun.
This is my little food blog, with a few extra seasonings. So come on into my kitchen–I promise something tasty!

What a wonderful, sadly necessary blog post. I read your lemon cake recipe as well. You are a great writer. Thank you.
I’ve been battling PCOS since 2005 and am still learning what foods help and which ones don’t. Food can be healing, if we let it.
Hi there! I think your blog is really great, so I’ve nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award 🙂
Oh, thank you! I just saw this comment, and I’m embarrassed it’s taken me so long to respond. I’m very flattered!
